This in person classroom course is for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies and for personnel in emergency response

The American Heart Association ACLS course does not teach interpretation of EKG rhythms, Pharmacology particulars, Intubation, or EZ IO – Intraosseous IV insertion. This class is an overview of how to bring all these skill sets together to help save someone’s life. While in the classroom setting these specialty skill sets will be discussed and used in conjunction with hands on simulation during the execution of a mega code.

Students must bring a copy of their non-expired current BLS-Basic Life Support certification to class. If your card has expired, kindly, call before class to arrange plans to bring you into compliance before you attend the ACLS course.

The AHA introduced pre-course Work Videos with the new 2020 guidelines on top of the precourse Self-assessment test. The online pre-course is FREE. Go to the link  hhttps://elearning.heart.org/course/424 to take the pre-course Self-assessment and pre-course work videos.

The ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment is an online tool that evaluates a student’s knowledge before the course to evaluate their proficiency and determine the need for additional review and practice in 3 sections: rhythm recognition, pharmacology, and practical application. The student must complete the Precourse Self-Assessment and achieve a score of at least 70% before taking the ACLS Course.

The ACLS Precourse Work involves a student reviewing course content through online videos before entering the classroom. The video lessons cover multiple medical subjects and each lesson includes questions to engage the student. This precourse work allows more classroom time for hands-on skills training and leads to the student being better prepared to participate as soon as they enter the classroom. The estimated pre course duration is 4 hours.
